The duo brings deep experience in international capital markets, advising clients on complex cross-border transactions.

With the arrivals of Lyons and Rees, the firm has now welcomed five new partners to its London office this year, including Mark Castillo-Bernaus, Nabil Khodadad, and Alistair Wishart, and 11 new partners globally, reflecting Baker Botts’ strategic growth in key markets.

Lyons, who previously served as the head of Dechert’s international capital markets team and was a member of its Dubai Management Committee, brings more than two decades of experience across Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. He advises sovereign and quasi-sovereign issuers, energy companies, financial institutions, life sciences and healthcare companies and others on high-profile IPOs, debt offerings, ESG bonds, rights issues, and privatizations.

Rees, who also joins from Dechert, focuses her practice on public and private cross-border capital markets transactions in emerging markets, including sovereign bond issuances, corporate equity and debt offerings, regulatory capital and other offerings for financial institutions, ESG financings, and liability management transactions.
