Rob Maier is a lead trial lawyer, Chair of the Intellectual Property Group in our New York office, and serves on the Firmwide Executive Committee. Rob leads trial teams in patent and other complex disputes, both in district courts and the ITC.
Multinational clients involved in complex cases across a broad spectrum of technologies, from semiconductor manufacturing and smartphones, to drink packaging and stem cells, rely on Rob's extensive experience and his aggressive but practical approach to cases. Rob's practice also includes PTAB matters, and he frequently is a lead advisor and advocate directing strategy in worldwide disputes.
From 2012-2017, Rob taught patent litigation as an Adjunct Associate Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School. Since 2017, Rob has been the bi-monthly patent and trademark columnist for the New York Law Journal, where he writes on hot topics in IP law.
Before studying law, Rob earned his undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering and worked as a software engineer.
